Apple
has released the Video Ipod with 2.5" LCD display.
They also have a distribution deal in place with
Disney for new TV shows to be sold in Itunes Video
store. The new Imac G5 feature a remote control
that works with Apple's new program Front Row.
Front Row is only available on new Imac G5 systems
for now but will see if upcoming power macs get
this added software bonus too. I really like the
new Video Ipod but believe it will not be the true
video money maker. I was analyzing how music
purchased thru Itunes music store would cost
$15,000 to fill new Ipod but since it only holds
75 hours of video clips and with TV shows costing
about $2.00 hour (Music video's would cost more
$2.00 for 5 minutes) thus total cost to fill with
video at $150.00 thus a Bid difference in revenue
generated from distribution thru Itunes stores.
What do you think? Won't it only be able to make
money when small drive technology allows thousands
of hours of video on a portable device. This is
what I think is truly holding portable video back!

In the morning time Apple will hold a special
event to unveil some new products. Will this make much
difference? I hope they release both a video capable
Ipod and more importantly some dual core PowerPC
systems. We'll see in the morning. What do you think
will be released?
